Montgomery Taylor Joins State CPA Committee

SANTA ROSA, CA, May 11, 2020 – We are pleased to announce that Montgomery Taylor, CPA, CFP and founder of Montgomery Taylor Wealth Management, officially joined the California Society of CPAs (CalCPA) Personal Financial Planning Committee on May 11.

Taylor is the only Sonoma County wealth advisor currently on the committee.

The goal of the CalCPA Personal Financial Planning Committee is to promote the personal financial planning core service at the state level and enable California CPAs to provide crucial services to their clients.

As a state committee member, Taylor will be working with his peers on projects that increase members’ technical knowledge and help advance the profession forward – enhancing the profession’s expertise, image and thought-leadership. His contributions will make a difference in drawing the best and brightest into accounting.

Involvement is not something new for Taylor, as he belongs to several local committees as well, including the Redwood Empire Estate Planning Council Board of Directors, where he is currently a member and previously served as president. He is also a mentor for the CFP Board, where he advises students hoping to become CFPs.

Taylor started Montgomery Taylor Wealth Management 26 years ago and has been in the financial planning business for almost 40 years. His firm helps clients with their income tax planning and preparation, investment management and financial planning among other core wealth management services. In his long career, he’s watched many of his clients grow and even transition into retirement.

Taylor got into the business when a couple of seasoned financial advisors took him under their wings and mentored him in the financial services industry. In Taylor’s new role, he plans to do the same. Initially, his interest in the business was specifically income tax preparation, but as it led into other things, such as helping clients put their kids through college and then walking them through their transition to retirement, his focus became larger. He finds his work rewarding, and believes education is his way to give back.

We are proud of Taylor’s most recent affiliation and how it will help him assist others with their financial needs.
